How long do gowns take to create?

From design to final creation, we operate on a 6- 14 month timeline. If you would like a quote on a dress that we have already created, please send through an image and this process will be a little more expedited.

What if my weight and measurements change before my wedding?

Your piece is made in the size that was ordered at the time of purchase and cannot be changed thereafter.

All alterations and changes to gowns will need to be arranged after delivery at the expense of the customer and subject to time availability. For custom designs, we take notes and make tweaks along the way, but it is essential that we are informed of any physical measurement changes or diet plans. While we are happy to work with you and your physical wedding goals, please understand that we are creating a custom piece to fit your body.

Final fitting day measurements are final. Should alterations be required after this, this will be your own responsibility and cost.

Do you offer alterations in house?

If you choose a custom design, this is made specifically to your measurements. If there are any physical changes to your measurements after collection and you require alterations, please reach out to our team via enquiries@katewilla.com and we will do our best to fit you in to alter this for you. Please note, this will be an additional cost and can be discussed at the time of organising the alterations. On some of our 2023 made-to-order collection we offer minor alterations during the creation time only. Please reach out to our team before purchase to discuss.

Can I customise or alter any of your designs?

Yes! For specific requests, please reach out to our team with your concept and some inspiration images and we can discuss this with you in more.

How do I care for my gown after the wedding?

After your wedding, we recommend dry cleaning your gown with a dry cleaner who specialises in wedding gowns specifically. We usually recommend wrapping your gown in some white tissue paper and sealing it in a gown box or vacuum sealed garment bag. Ensure your gown box or bag is then stored in a cool, dry and clean environment.

Incorrect address & change of address

For our made-to-order pieces we have plenty of time before shipping to get this amended and updated but please make sure you are double checking the entered shipping address at the time of placing your order.  We take no responsibility for incorrect shipping details. Delivery address cannot be changed or cancelled once the order has been dispatched.

Order tracking

A tracking number will be sent via email once dispatched.

How do I work out my size?

Our measurement guide is available on our website. You can find it here also. Before purchasing from our made-to-order range, we recommend carefully taking your measurements. Should your measurements fall into differing size brackets, please reach out to our team via enquiries@katewilla.com for more personal size advice. If you are purchasing a custom gown, we will create this to your personal measurements.

How do I take my measurements?

We recommend taking your measurements in CM.

Bust
Around the chest at the point where the nipple sits (in the bra you are planning on wearing)

Waist
The smallest area. A great tip is to bend from side to side and wherever this natural crease is, that’s the sweet spot.

Hip
The largest area around your hip (please make sure you take a few measurements over the hip area and send the largest). Generally, this is 26cm down from your waist.

Shoulder to Waist down
This is measured from the highest point on your shoulder (close to neck) to the point of your waist (bendy part). The tape measure should be a vertical line from your shoulder point down the front of your body.

Waist to Floor
Vertically from your waist down. (With shoes)

Wrist
Around the wrist, right above the wrist bone.
